If you have spent any real time in Black Ops 7 Season 1, you already know Astra Malorum is no chill warmup map, it is a grind, and if you are coming from a more relaxed mode or even a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby , the jump in pace can feel wild. The main Easter Egg is long, messy and very easy to throw away if you do not plan ahead. So you start by getting the Harmonic Oculus online: hunt around the spawn zones and the upper Observatory levels for three fuses. They are never exactly in the same place, but usually on crates, tucked by railings or near debris doors. Slot those in, power stabilises, and right after that you really want to lock in your plan for getting the LGM‑1 Wonder Weapon rather than gambling the box and hoping the game likes you.
Getting Set Up Properly
Most squads rush straight to the mystery box and then complain when they are on round 18 with no LGM‑1, so do not be that group. Use the armory quest to build it instead. It is slower at first, but you end up with a guaranteed gun and an easier path to the upgraded version you will need later. While you are doing this, keep at least one teammate focused on points and map unlocks rather than kills. Open routes towards the Control Room and Cryo Chamber early so you are not stuck in tight hallways when elite zombies start stacking up. Grab basic perks as you move, but do not over‑invest in early Pack‑a‑Punch if it slows down your Wonder Weapon progress.
Planet Alignment And Team Mistakes
The planetary alignment bit is where runs usually fall apart. In the Control Room you will see a hologram showing planets in a very specific order, each one with a color. Above the map there are floating orbs that match those planets. You have to shoot them with the LGM‑1 in the exact sequence, and the color on the display has to match the color of the orb you hit. If someone panics and tags the wrong one, the game throws you into a brutal lockdown round with armoured zombies and almost no safe space to kite. Easiest way to handle it: one caller, one shooter. Let one player read the screen, call the color and position, and the LGM‑1 user only fires when it is clearly confirmed. Everyone else just keeps the zombies off them.
Brain Escort And Mars Portal
After you manage the orbs, the Cryo Chamber in the basement opens up and you finally get to mess with Dr. Thurston’s brain. The gross part is that once someone picks it up, they are stuck at walking speed, cannot shoot and basically become a moving escort objective. Treat it like an old school payload: one player carries, two or three form a loose circle clearing the path and watching flanks. Take the brain to the scanner near the airlock, let the scan finish and do a quick resupply check. You want Self Revives, armour plates, a solid panic option like Monkey Bombs and at least one strong weapon that does not rely on Pack‑a‑Punch, because Mars has no machine and no easy way out once you commit to the portal.
Caltheris Fight And What Usually Kills Runs
The Caltheris boss fight is not complicated, it is just long and punishing if anyone zones out. Phase one is simple: shoot the glowing vents on his armour until they crack, move between cover and do not waste your best ammo yet. Phase two adds lava flooding the floor so everyone has to stay on the higher platforms; players who like to run circles on the ground usually get deleted here. Phase three slows the fight down again because Caltheris goes immune and dumps adds everywhere. You have to wipe the minions near the corner soul boxes to charge them up, and it always feels like it takes longer than it should, so do not tilt. Once phase four starts, it turns into a straight damage race on his chest, and this is where ammo discipline earlier really pays off. Dump every high‑damage option you have left, keep moving so you do not eat stray projectiles, and you avoid the wipe mechanic that ends the whole game just when you were about to win, which makes a clean kill feel way better than anything you would get from a casual CoD BO7 Bot Lobbies buy session.
